City Food Growers

Check out this fabulous website (see links) and take a free tour of the site to give you an idea of the huge scope of the site. Normal yearly membership is $25, could well be worth it further down the track - great resource tool and community growers links.

Wild Flower Walk Sun 18th Aug

The day couldn't have been better, blue skies and a cooling breeze. Thankyou BIEPA for organising a wonderful wildflower walk complete with flower identifying pamphlet - which just made my 4 year old Jack's day as he went around identifying everything in sight. There were flowers abundant, my favourites - the Vanilla Lillies, flowering en masse in visions of purple.
You can see them on the sandy track off to the right of the road that runs up past the back of Woolies.

Update from meeting 6th August

We have been in communication with Kookaburra House new Project Officer Bev McMullen with regard to setting up meetings with the Advisory committee and community consultant.
We are also sourcing info on restrictions on private land useage with regard to a community garden.
BIEPA kindly let us put some fliers on their market stall at Brennan Park, hopefully we can continue that on a monthly basis.
Our Petrie market/garden outing was postponed in favour of supporting the BIEPA wildflower walk on the same day.
NEXT MEETING WED 27th AUG @ 7pm
